"Howard Joseland was an English born architect who moved to Australia for his health. He established in Sydney and set up his practice designing homes on the affluent north shore where he lived.    He was a keen angler  equally at home fishing in both salt and fresh water.   Joseland was instrumental in establishing the New South Wales Rod Fishers Association and became its first Secretary and later President. He was a regular contributor to angling magazines in Australia and the UK.  John Hedge referred to him as "the father of trout fishing in New South Wales".
